Hood Sensor/Switch (For Alarm): Description and Operation

CIRCUIT OPERATION

The Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS) uses the hood ajar switch to provide an input to the Body Control Module (BCM). This switch is
normally OPEN with the hood closed. When the hood is opened the switch CLOSES completing a path to ground.

Circuit G70 is used to monitor the hood. Power for the switch is supplied on circuit M100. Ground for the switch is supplied on circuit Z1, and
terminates at the right cowl panel.
