Neutral Safety Switch: Service and Repair
The following procedure applies to automatic transaxle equipped models only. On manual transaxle equipped models, a back-up switch is mounted on
the transaxle case.
1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then disconnect switch electrical connector.
2. Remove switch from transaxle case and allow fluid to drain into suitable container.
3. Ensure switch operating lever fingers center in opening when shift selector is in Park and Neutral positions.
4. Reverse procedure to install switch with new seal. Torque switch to 24 ft. lbs.
