Involved vehicles may be equipped with either 14" or 15" wheels and/or may be equipped with a full size spare. Dealers must determine the size and
number of wheels required for each involved vehicle. The vehicle VIN lists provided to each involved dealer includes a part code which identifies
this information for each VIN. This code is located in the third column of the VIN list and is identified by the "P" column header.
Dealers should determine the wheel size and quantity for each vehicle at the time appointments are scheduled to assure that the correct wheels are
available when the customer arrives. To do this, the VIN of each vehicle should be obtained from the owner when scheduling an appointment. The
parts requirement should then be determined by using the information provided in the VIN list and the enclosed Parts section.
Uninvolved dealers may confirm the wheel size and quantity required for each vehicle by using the information provided in the Parts section along
with entering the VIN into DIAL System Function 69 or VIP (for sales code information).
Parts Packages:

Due to the small number of involved vehicles (about 70 total) and the likelihood that the required wheels are already in your parts inventory, no parts
will be distributed initially to dealers. Dealers are requested to order the appropriate wheels only to support scheduled appointments.

Dear Caravan or Voyager Owner:
This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
Chrysler Corporation has determined that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in some 1997 Dodge Caravan and Plymouth Voyager
minivans equipped with steel wheels.
The problem is...
The steel wheels on your Caravan or Voyager (identified on the enclosed form), may have been damaged during the tire mounting process. The damage
could result in a wheel and tire separating from the vehicle and could cause an accident without prior warning.
What Chrysler and your dealer will do...
Chrysler will repair your vehicle free of charge (parts and labor). To do this, your dealer will replace all of your vehicle's steel wheels (including full
sized spare, if equipped). The work will take about 1-1/2 - 2 hours to complete. However, additional time may be necessary depending on how dealer
appointments are scheduled and processed.
What you must do to ensure your safety...

Simply contact your dealer right away to schedule a service appointment. Ask the dealer to hold the parts for your vehicle or to order them before
your appointment.

Bring the enclosed Owner Notification Form with you to your dealer. It explains the required service to the dealer.
