Roof Rack Wind Noise/Howl Sound
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves replacing the roof rack crossbars **or the crossbar rub strips.**

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
A wind noise, possibly described as howl sound, may be heard when driving at highway speeds. The roof rack crossbars can be the cause of this type of
sound.
DIAGNOSIS/REPAIR PROCEDURES:
Remove the root rack crossbars (See Repair Procedure for removal and installation information) and test drive the vehicle at highway speeds. **If the
noise is still present, and the vehicle is equipped with 16" Michelin MX4 Tires (Sales Code TM5), refer to TSB 22-003-01 dated April 6, 2001. If the
wind noise/howl sound is no longer present, perform Repair Procedure A for vehicles built before January 1, 2001 and Repair Procedure B for vehicles
built after January 1, 2001.**
