Slide the receiver/drier up and out of its bracket.

Disconnect both A/C lines from the A/C compressor. If the vehicle was built on or after to Oct. 23, 2000 skip to step 22.
13.
Raise the vehicle on a suitable hoist.
14.
Disconnect the suction line fitting located under the passenger floorboard area. Remove and discard the 0-ring on the rear portion of the suction
line, cap the rear portion of the suction line. Remove any tie strap(s) on the forward portion of the suction line.
15.
Lower the vehicle.
16.
Disconnect the suction line from the expansion valve.
17.
Disconnect the fuel line connector at the underside of the throttle body and position out of the way
18.
Open the NC line routing clip attached to the receiver/drier bracket.
19.
Remove the suction line from the vehicle through the engine compartment.
20.
Route the revised suction line with extension, p/n 05005243AB, into position and attach to the expansion valve. Tighten the nut to 23 Nm (17 ft.
lbs.).
21.
Connect the fuel line connector at the underside of the throttle body.
22.
Remove the radiator sight shield, (2 bolts, 2 push pins and six screws).
23.
Disconnect the discharge line from the condenser and discard the line.
24.
Disconnect the liquid line from the condenser.
25.
Open the liquid line routing clip located under the windshield washer fluid filler neck.
26.
Remove the front portion of the liquid line from the vehicle and discard the line.
27.
Install a new receiver/drier, p/n 05066503AA, into the bracket on the right inner fender.
NOTE:
LUBRICATE ALL 0-RINGS WITH REFRIGERANT OIL PIN 82300102
PRIOR TO INSTALLATION. NEW 0-RINGS AND GASKETS SHOULD
BE USED AT ALL CONNECTIONS.
28.
Route and install a new liquid line. Close the routing clip. Tighten the fitting at the condenser to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.).
29.
Attach the A/C lines to the receiver/drier. Tighten the screws to 2 Nm (16 in. lbs.).
30.
Attach a new discharge line, p/n 05005241AA, to the condenser. Tighten the fitting to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.)
31.
Install the radiator sight shield.
32.
Raise the vehicle. If the vehicle was built on or after to Oct.23, 2000 skip to step 35.
33.
Connect the A/C suction line extension to the rear A/C suction line. Tighten the fitting to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.).
34.
Install any tie strap(s) that were removed in step 14 from the suction line forward of the fitting to the rear suction line.
35.
Remove the splash shield for the accessory drive belt.
36.
Remove and inspect the accessory drive belt, discard if damaged.
37.
Disconnect the A/C compressor electrical connector.
38.
Remove the A/C compressor mounting bolts and separate the A/C compressor from the vehicle.
39.
Drain and measure the amount of oil in the A/C compressor, p/n 05005441AA. Estimate how much, if any, oil was lost at A/C line disconnections
and add that amount to the amount measured from the A/C compressor, this is the amount of oil the new A/C compressor must contain when it is
installed.
40.
Measure the amount of oil in the replacement A/C compressor, insure the new A/C compressor contains the amount of oil, p/n 82300102,
determined in step 39.
41.
Install the new A/C compressor and finger tighten all of the fasteners. Tighten the fasteners in the following sequence to 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.):
a.
The upper nut at the front of the compressor.
b.
The lower screw at the front of the compressor.
c.
The upper screw at the rear of the compressor.
d.
The lower screw at the rear of the compressor.
42.
Connect the A/C compressor electrical connector.
43.
Install the accessory drive belt, p/n 04861322AB.
44.
Install the accessory drive belt splash shield.
45.
Lower the vehicle.
46.
Attach the suction and discharge lines to the compressor. Use a new 0-ring and gasket, p/n 05066497AA at the discharge line connection and p/n
05066498AA at the suction line connection if the suction line has not been replaced. Torque the fasteners to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.).
47.
Connect the cowl plenum drain tube.
48.
Install the air cleaner.
49.
Evacuate and charge the A/C system. If the vehicle was built on or after to Oct. 23, 2000, the repair is complete.
50.
Connect the battery negative cable.
51.
Set the clock to the correct time.
