Using side cutters, cut and remove the crimp clamp connecting the rubber hose of the return line to the metal tubing of the return line (Fig. 1).

Remove and discard the rubber portion of the power steering return line and the plastic convolute tubing.

Install the spring clamp from step 3 to the end of the new return hose which does not have a spring clamp.

NOTE:

MAKE SURE THAT THE METAL BAND IN THE NEW RETURN LINE HOSE IS POSITIONED CLOSEST TO THE METAL RETURN LINE.

Install the new return hose to the return line metal tubing and the power steering fluid reservoir.

NOTE:

THE HOSE SHOULD RUN PARALLEL TO THE THROTTLE CABLE AND SHOULD NOT CONTACT THE THROTTLE CABLE OR THE
CRUISE CONTROL SERVO OR CABLE (IF EQUIPPED).

8.

With the new hose fully seated on both ends, install the spring clamps.

9.

Fill the power steering fluid reservoir to the proper level with Mopar power steering fluid (MS 5931) p/n 04883077.

10.

Start the vehicle for a few seconds then shut off engine. Check fluid level and add if necessary. Repeat the above procedure until the fluid level
remains constant after running the engine.

11.

Check for power steering fluid leaks.
