Exhaust Manifold: Removal and Replacement
Left Exhaust Manifold
LEFT EXHAUST MANIFOLD
1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the upstream oxygen sensor electrical connector.
3. Remove the upper two nuts (3) from the exhaust manifold heat shields.
4. Raise and secure the vehicle on a hoist See: Maintenance/Vehicle Lifting/Service and Repair
5. Use a socket such as Snap-On YA8875 or a crow foot wrench to remove the upstream oxygen sensor from the exhaust manifold.
6. Support the engine and remove the engine mount See: Engine/Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories/Engine Mount/Service and
Repair/Engine Mount Insulator - Removal
7. Remove three bolts (1) and the engine mount bracket (2).
