Blower Motor: Service and Repair
Removal
REMOVAL
WARNING: Disable the airbag system before attempting any steering wheel, steering column, or instrument panel component diagnosis or
service. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery (ground) cable, then wait two minutes for the airbag system capacitor to
discharge before performing further diagnosis or service. This is the only sure way to disable the airbag system. Failure to take the
proper precautions could result in accidental airbag deployment and possible serious or fatal injury.
1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the instrument panel silencer from the passenger side of the instrument panel, See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard /
Instrument Panel/Service and Repair/Silencer Panel - Removal.
3. Disengage the wire harness connector locking tab and disconnect the wire harness connector (1) from the blower motor (5).
4. Disengage the wire harness (4) from the two wire harness retainers (6).
5. Remove the three screws (2) that secure the blower motor to the HVAC housing (3).
6. Remove the blower motor from the HVAC housing.
