Fuel Injector: Service and Repair
Fuel Injector - Removal
REMOVAL
WARNING: The fuel system is under constant pressure even with engine off. Before servicing fuel injector(s), fuel system pressure must be
released.
NOTE: To remove one or more fuel injectors, the fuel rail assembly must be removed from engine.
1. Perform the fuel system pressure release procedure See: Fuel Filter/Fuel Pressure Release/Service and Repair
2. Remove the fuel rail assembly See: Fuel Rail/Service and Repair/Fuel Rail - Removal
3. Remove the fuel injector (4) retaining clip(s) (3) from the fuel rail (2).
4. Remove the injector(s) from the fuel rail assembly.
