Oil Temperature Sensor/Switch: Description and Operation
DESCRIPTION
The oil temperature sensor uses the following two circuits:

Signal circuit to the PCM
-
Ground circuit from the PCM
The oil temperature sensor is a Negative Thermal Coefficient sensor. The resistance of the sensor changes as oil temperature changes. This results in
different output voltages back to the PCM.
The oil temperature sensor is located on the right side of the engine block.
