6. Position the lower splash shield and install the splash shield retaining bolts (1).
7. Lower the vehicle.
8. Tighten the generator upper mounting bolt to 55 Nm (41 ft. lbs.).
CAUTION: When installing a serpentine accessory drive belt, the belt MUST be routed correctly. The water pump may be rotating in the
wrong direction if the belt is installed incorrectly, causing the engine to overheat.
9. Install the accessory drive belt See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories/Drive Belt/Service and
Repair/Serpentine Accessory Drive Belt - Removal
10. Connect the negative battery cable.
