Generator - Removal

WARNING: DISCONNECT NEGATIVE CABLE FROM BATTERY BEFORE REMOVING BATTERY OUTPUT WIRE (B+ WIRE) FROM

GENERATOR. FAILURE TO DO SO CAN RESULT IN INJURY OR DAMAGE TO ELECTRICAL SYSTEM.

1. Disconnect and isolate negative battery cable at battery.
2. Remove generator drive belt See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories/Drive Belt/Service and

Repair/Serpentine Accessory Drive Belt - Removal.

3. Remove upper generator mounting bolt (1).

4. Raise and support vehicle.
5. Remove lower splash shield.
6. Remove bolt (1) from transmission cooler line clamp at right crossmember (3) and reposition transmission cooler line (2).
