6. Remove and save the hose routing clamp on the left side of the suspension crossmember.
7. Lower the vehicle from the hoist.
8. Using Mopar Brake Parts Cleaner (or equivalent) and compressed air, clean the area around the power steering pump where the tube nut screws into
the power steering pump (Figure 11).
CAUTION:
Failure to clean the area around the power steering pump tube nut at the power steering pump could allow dirt to enter the power steering hydraulic
system during power steering pressure hose replacement.
9. Unscrew the tube nut at the power steering pump and then remove the power steering pressure hose from the power steering pump (Figure 11).
10. Remove and save the power steering pressure hose routing clamp bolt at the cylinder head.
11. Remove and discard the power steering pressure hose from the vehicle.
12. Lubricate the rubber O-rings on each end of the new power steering pressure hose with clean power steering fluid.
13. Install the power steering pressure hose into the engine compartment from above between the engine and the upper radiator hose.
14. Install the power steering pressure hose at the power steering pump pressure port. Tighten the tube nut to 24 ft. lbs. (32 N.m).
15. Position the power steering pressure hose routing clamp to the side of the front cylinder head. Install and tighten the routing clamp bolt to 16 ft.lbs.
(22 N.m)
16. Raise the vehicle on the hoist.
17. Install the power steering pressure hose tube at the steering gear. Tighten the tube to nut to 24 ft. lbs. (32 N.m).
18. Position the power steering pressure hose routing clamp to the left side of the front suspension crossmember. Install and tighten the routing clamp
screw to 10 ft. lbs. (14 N.m).
19. Use Mopar Brake Clean (or equivalent) and compressed air, clean off any residual power steering fluid that may have spilled onto the front
suspension crossmember.
20. Lower the vehicle from the hoist.
21. Continue with Section I. Fill and Bleed the Power Steering Hydraulic System.
CAUTION:
If the air is not purged from the power steering system correctly, power steering pump failure could result.
E. Replace Power Steering Pressure Hose (DS Models / All Engines)
NOTE:
The following procedure is required if the power steering pressure hose required replacement per the inspection in Section "A."
