Blower Motor Relay: Testing and Inspection
Time Delay Relay Test/Shelby Charger-with Manual A/C
After a wide open throttle is released the time delay relay keeps the A/C clutch from re-engaging for 4 to 8 seconds.
1. Make sure that the wide open throttle cutout switch is operating properly.
2. With the air conditioning on and the ignition on, with the engine off, open the throttle full open and hold for 5 or more seconds.
3. Close the throttle and make sure that the air conditioning clutch re-engages within 3 to 9 seconds.
4. If the delay is excessively long or if there is no delay, replace the relay.
