If fuse blows, switch or wiring is faulty.

After First Wipe, Won't Run In Intermittent Mode

Intermittent wipe and standard two-speed motors are identical.  Refer to TWO SPEED WIPER SYSTEM in this section for diagnosis of system
problems not involving the delay function.

Voltmeter Between Cavities 4 And 8

1.

Unplug connector from intermittent wipe control unit.  Inspect connector contacts for damage.

2.

Place switch in maximum delay (dwell) position.

3.

Connect voltmeter between cavities "4" and "8."

4.

If meter reads 0V, check switch and wiring.

5.

If meter reads 10 - 15V, control unit is faulty and should be replaced.

Excessive Delay or Inadequate Delay Variation

Intermittent wipe and standard two-speed motors are identical.  Refer to TWO SPEED WIPER SYSTEM in this section for diagnosis of system
problems not involving the delay function.

1.

Variations in delay should be as follows:
a.

Minimum delay (control at extreme counter clockwise position before first detent), one half to two seconds.

b.

Maximum delay (control to extreme left before "OFF" detent), 10 to 30 seconds.

2.

If there is excessive delay or no variation, replace switch.

No Continuous Wiping With Washer Operating

problems not involving the delay function.

Voltmeter Between Cavities 4 And 7

1.

Unplug connector from intermittent wipe control unit.

2.

Connect voltmeter between cavities "4" and "7."
