Crankshaft Main Bearing Seal: Service and Repair
Removal
REMOVAL
The crankshaft rear oil seal is incorporated in the seal adapter (2) and can not be removed from the adapter. The crankshaft rear oil seal/seal adapter (2)
are serviced as an assembly.
1. Disconnect negative battery (1) cable.
2. Raise vehicle.
3. Remove splash shield retaining bolts (1) and splash shield (2).
4. Remove the structural collarSee: Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories/Engine Mount/Service and Repair/Structural Collar/Removal.
