Water Pump: Removal and Replacement

Water Pump - Removal

3.5L ENGINE

The water pump on all models can be replaced without discharging the air conditioning system.

1. Drain cooling system See: Service and Repair.
2. Remove accessory drive belts See: Engine/Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories/Drive Belt/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement/Serpentine Accessory Drive Belt - Removal.

3. Remove engine timing belt See: Engine/Timing Components/Timing Belt/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Timing Belt & Sprockets

- Removal.

4. Remove water pump mounting bolts (3). Note position of longer bolts for proper re-installation.
5. Remove water pump body from engine.
