Speaker Cutout At High Volume Or Bass Setting
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves selectively erasing and reprogramming the audio amplifier (AMP) with new software.

NOTE:
This bulletin applies to Charger vehicles equipped with a Boston Acoustics audio system (sales code RC2 or RC6).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The rear speakers cut out at high volume or bass and/or the Instrument Panel (I/P) speakers pop or cutout at high volume or bass.
DIAGNOSIS:
Check amplifier part number. If the part number is 05064118AE or earlier perform the Repair Procedure. If the part number is 05064118AF or later this
bulletin does not apply and further diagnosis is required.
NOTE:
There are two methods to download flash files to StarSCAN(R). The first (preferred) method is to download the flash files to the StarSCAN(R) from
the internet. The second method is to download the flash files from the StarSCAN(R) Software Update CD.
SPECIAL TOOLS / EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:
REPAIR PROCEDURE - USING THE INTERNET TO RETRIEVE THE FLASH FILE:
NOTE:
The StarSCAN(R) must be at version 5.02 or higher before the "Using The Internet To Retrieve The Flash File" repair procedure can be performed.
NOTE:
The StarSCAN(R) diagnostic scan tool fully supports Internet connectivity. However, in order to take advantage of this feature you must first
configure the StarSCAN(R) for your dealership's network. For instruction on setting up your StarSCAN(R) for the dealer's network; refer to the
StarSCAN(R) Quick Start Networking Guide available on the website under the "download center".
