Deck Lid Rubbing The Paint Off Of The Rear Fascia
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves installing a deck lid seal and over slam bumpers and repairing the rear fascia and deck lid edge.

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The customer may describe that paint is rubbing off the rear fascia.
The technician may find this is caused by the deck did hem edge contacting the rear fascia during over-slam.
DIAGNOSIS:
The over-slam bumper system is not sufficient to stop the deck lid from contacting the rear fascia when the gap is less than 5.0 mm (0.2 in.) at the
"corner surface and less than 8.0 mm (0.315 in.) on the "horizontal surface". The Service Kit will increase the gap to the corner surface. (Fig. 1).
If the customer describes the Symptom/Condition perform the Repair Procedure.
