Seat Belt Retractor: Service and Repair

SEAT BELT AND RETRACTOR

FRONT

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.

WARNING:  WAIT TWO MINUTES FOR THE AIRBAG SYSTEM RESERVE CAPACITOR TO DISCHARGE BEFORE
BEGINNING ANY AIRBAG SYSTEM OR COMPONENT SERVICE. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN ACCIDENTAL
AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT, PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH.

2. Remove trim cover (3) from the seat cushion outboard trim cover.
3. Remove seat belt (1) lower anchor nut (2) from seat cushion frame.

4. Remove the upper turning loop (3) trim cover (2).
5. Remove the upper turning loop retaining bolt (4).
