Modify the Carburetor Control Unit (CCU) harness:

1.

Disconnect the positive terminal of th ebattery.

2.

Locate and disconnect the 13-pin CCU connector from the carbureto rcontrol unit. The control unit is located on the right kick panel in
the passenger compartment.

3.

Cut the red with blue tracer wire at the connector.

4.

Since the wire leads to the battery positive, wrap it with at least three turns of electrical tape to insure that it is well insulated and then
tape it back to the harness.

5.

Reconnect the CCU connector and the positive terminal of the battery.

6.

Wipe existing hose routing label clean. Affix the supplied new label to cover the original label.

7.

Reinstall coolant removed in Step A-1. Start engine and check for leaks.

Claims for vehicles which have been serviced should be submitted by DIAL dealers on the DIAL II System. Non DIAL dealers may use WROs. Claims
submitted will be used by Chrysler to record recall service completions and provide dealer payments. (See C apter 6, Warranty Policy and Procedure
Manual for complete claim processing instructions.)

If using a WRO, enter only one VIN per claim. Fill in the labor operation number and time allowance and write on the WRO "Recall #419 -- Choke and
secondary air adjustment." Do not enter other service claims on the same WRO.

1984 PLYMOUTH OR DODGE COLT WITH 1.4 LITER ENGINE

Dear Chrysler Import Vehicle Owner:

It has been determined that your 1984 Chrysler import car, with a 1.4 liter engine, may be in violation of Federal Emissions Standards. Carbon monoxide
levels could be above the allowable limits, which were established to protect the public health and welfare from the dangers of air pollution. For this
reason, we are asking you to return your vehicle -- identified by the Vehicle Identification Number on the enclosed form -- to your dealer for a special
service repair. This service will be provided free of charge.

The needed instructions have been sent to all Chrysler-Plymouth and Dodge dealers. The service will not hurt your engine performance or fuel economy.
Your dealer is ready to serve you now. To obtain this service:

Contact your dealer as soon as possible to make an appointment for the free service. We request that you contact the dealer who sold you the
vehicle. However, if necessary, the service can be arranged for through any ChryslerPlymouth or Dodge dealer.

Take the enclosed Owner Recall Notification Form with you at the time of your appointment and give it to your dealer. The form identifies
the vehicle and recall for which service is required.
