SYMPTOM/CONDITION

Engine may exhibit sags with a cold engine during moderate to heavy acceleration and a delayed 1st to 2nd upshift on automatic transmission equipped
vehicles.

NOTE:

THIS SERVICE APPLIES TO VEHICLES BUILT BEFORE APRIL, 1985. VEHICLES BUILT AFTER APRIL, 1985, WILL
HAVE A REDESIGNED INTAKE MANIFOLD.

Federal Parts Kit (including emission label)

PN MD104628

California Parts Kit (including emission label)

PN MD104629

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1.

Drain cooling system by about two quarts.

2.

Remove air cleaner assembly.

3.

Remove throttle cable.

4.

Remove carburetor assembly.

5.

Remove old carburetor base gasket.

6.

Install new base gasket on intake manifold and install plate on it.
