With the tape player assembly removed from the car, remove the upper cover by loosening the four attaching screws and follow Figure 2 for
reference.
1.
Cassette comes up, but does not come out.
a.
Push the slider pack "A" to the front and remove cassette.
2.
Cassette does not come up.
a.
Press the eject button.
b.
Push the lever drive "B" slowly to the left side three times using a screwdriver.

Cassette comes out.
CORRECTIVE ACTIONS
Inspection of Stereo/Cassette Tape
1.
Inspection of (Stereo/Tape Player Assembly. a. After removing the cassette tape from the stereo tape player as described in one of the
above procedures, check the eject operation as follows:

Eject works using a good cassette, original cassette faulty.
^
Eject still does not work using a good cassette, stereo tape player assembly at fault, send out to repair center.
2.
Inspection of Cassette Tape
a.
Check cassette for peeling label or paper on case.

Advise owner to remove label or paper, and write title directly on case.
b.
Check cassette case for warpage or damage.
^
Advise owner not to use cassette in stereo.
c.
Check cassette for slack.
^
Remove slack by rewinding tape using a ball point pen or lead pencil.
3.
Instructions to Customer
a.
Explain to customer how to inspect cassette for tape problems as mentioned above.
b.
Advise customer to keep cassettes in storage case, protected from direct sunlight.
