Oil Pump: Service and Repair

To remove oil pump pickup, refer to ``Oil Pan, Replace.''

Remove timing case as described under ``Timing Case, Replace.''

2.

Remove relief plug, spring and plunger, then the bolt and oil pump cover.

3.

Remove rotor from oil pump housing.

4.

Reverse procedure to install. Lubricate oil pump internal components with engine oil. Torque oil pump sprocket attaching nut to 25-28 ft. lbs.
