1.
Start engine and allow to reach normal operating temperature.
2.
Ensure that all electrical accessories are ``Off,'' then position transmission in ``Neutral.''
3.
Set curb idle to specifications.
4.
With air conditioning system ``Off,'' disconnect vacuum hose from throttle opener nipple, then apply 20 inches Hg vacuum to throttle opener with
a suitable vacuum pump.
5.
Adjust engine speed with throttle opener setting screw, Fig. 19, to the following specifications:
a. On 1982 Champ & Colt (1600cc engine), set engine speed to 900 ± 50 RPM for automatic transaxle equipped vehicles, or 850 ± 50 RPM for
manual transaxle equipped vehicles.
b. On 1982 Challenger, Sapporo & Pickup, set engine speed to 900 ± 50 RPM.
c. On 1983 Challenger & Sapporo, set engine speed to 1050 ± 50 RPM.
d. On 1983 Colt, set engine speed to 1100 ± 50 RPM for manual transaxle equipped vehicles, or 1150 ± 50 RPM for automatic transaxle
equipped vehicles.
e. On 1983 Pickup, set engine speed to 1000 ± 50 RPM for 2600cc engine.
f.
On 1984 Colt & Colt Vista, set engine speed to 850 ± 50 RPM.
g. On Pickup models, set engine speed to 875 ± 25 RPM.
h. On 1985-88 Colt, set engine speed to 875 ± 25 RPM.
i.
On 1985-88 Colt Vista models W/feedback carburetor, set engine speed to 750 RPM.
