This system, Fig. 19, consists of a throttle opener assembly, a solenoid valve, an engine speed sensor and the air conditioning compressor switch.
When the compressor is switched on, the speed sensor detects a drop in engine speed, and activates the solenoid valve. The solenoid valve then
transfers intake manifold vacuum to the throttle opener, which opens the throttle valve via the throttle opener lever. The engine speed, therefore, is
balanced against the air conditioning compressor load, resulting in improved idle and decreased levels of exhaust pollutants.
