SYMPTOM/CONDITON
The following conditions may be experienced on subject model vehicles:

No control over radio volume.

No sound from radio and unable to raise sound by pushing VOL + (Figure 1).

No volume from one channel.
^
Sound from radio varies without pushing VOL + or VOL - (Figure 1).
REPAIR PROCEDURE
Any of the above conditions may be due to a battery that is low on charge. If battery voltage to radio is reduced to 7-1/2 to 8 volts, it may affect the
memory chip that controls radio volume.
1.
Restore battery state of charge and check charging system per service manual procedures.
2.
To reset radio volume memory chip, disconnect battery for a minimum of 2 minutes.
3.
Reconnect battery, tune in station, and check radio volume control.
