With these two changes, a change was also made in the transfer case adapter on the KM145 to provide additional room for the new countershaft gear and
locknut, see Figure 3.

These changes were effective in September, 1987, with transaxle number DM9593. These components are interchangeable with previously built units.
However, a new locknut and a new countershaft gear must both be replaced on a KM132, and a new locknut, new countershaft gear, and a new transfer
case adapter must all be replaced when working on a KM145.
