Pulsed Secondary Air Injection: Service and Repair
Aspirator Valve, Replace
1. Disconnect air hose from aspirator valve inlet.
2. Using the hex at the threaded joint, unscrew valve from tube assembly.
3. Reverse procedure to install. Tighten valve to 25 ft lbs. Replace air hose if hardened.
Aspirator Tube Assembly, Replace
1. Disconnect air hose from aspirator valve inlet, then remove aspirator tube attaching screws and the tube assembly.
2. Clean gasket material from exhaust manifold and aspirator tube flange.
3. Reverse procedure to install using a new gasket. Torque tube bracket attaching screws to 40 ft lbs on 4-156 and 6-225 engines, or 115 inch lbs. on
V8-318 and V8-360 engines. Torque flange mounting screw to 150 inch lbs.
