Oil Pan: Service and Repair
6-225 (3.7L)
1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then remove engine oil dipstick, dipstick tube, engine cover and air cleaner.
2. Raise and support front of vehicle, then drain crankcase and remove engine to transmission strut, if equipped.
3. On models equipped with automatic transmission, remove torque converter inspection cover.
4. Remove frame reinforcement if so equipped.
5. Remove oil pan attaching screws and position the crankshaft to permit clearance for oil pan removal. Remove oil pan.
6. Reverse procedure to install. On California models, left side gasket is of high temperature type. On all models, apply 1/8 inch drop of suitable
sealer to all four corners of rubber seal and cork gasket.
