1.
Disconnect battery ground cable.
2.
Disconnect alternator output lead from alternator "B" terminal, then connect a DC ammeter between "B" terminal and disconnected output lead.
Connect the positive lead of the ammeter to the "B" terminal and the negative lead to the disconnected output wire.

Connect a digital voltmeter between between the alternator "B" terminal and battery positive terminal. Connect the positive lead wire of the
voltmeter to the "B" terminal and the negative lead wire to the positive battery terminal.
4.
Connect the battery ground cable, then start the engine.
5.
Obtain an ammeter reading of 20A by adjusting engine speed and current draw by turning lights On and Off. The voltmeter should read 0.2 V
maximum.
6.
If voltmeter reading is higher than specified, poor wiring may be the cause. Check the wiring from the alternator "B" terminal to the battery for
proper connections or signs of overheating.
