SYMPTOM/CONDITION
Vehicle shakes or vibrates during normal operating conditions.
DIAGNOSIS
Road test the vehicle for shake or vibration that feels like an out-of-balance tire. This can be a low speed shake, or vibration at 45-65 mph. The condition
may be caused by excessive wheel run-out.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
It will be necessary to check the wheels for excessive run-out using the following procedure:
1.
Mark the wheel stud nearest the tire valve stem for future reference.
2.
Remove the wheel and tire assembly from the vehicle.
3.
Adjust the wheel bearings and check the wheel mounting surface for run-out.
4.
Remove the tire from the wheel and remount the wheel on the vehicle in the same stud position as outlined in Step 1.
5.
Make sure all wheel nuts are properly torqued.
