Temperature Gauge: Testing and Inspection
Temperature Gauge Test

1.

Disconnect electrical connector from sending unit.

2.

Ground harness side of connector with a test light.

3.

Turn ignition switch to On position, then ensure test light flashes and gauge needle moves.

4.

If test light flashes, but needle does not move, replace engine coolant temperature gauge.

5.

If test light does not flash and gauge needle does not move, check fuse for broken wire, resistance between gauge terminals or break in harness.
