Throttle Full Close Switch: Testing and Inspection

NOTE: The Idle Position Switch and the Throttle Position Sensor are incorporated into one unit.

1.

With the accelerator pedal released, check to see that the throttle valve lever and the Fixed SAS are touching.
If not, refer to ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURES to adjust the Fixed SAS.

Disconnect the Throttle Position Sensor connector.

Checking Continuity Of Idle Position Switch

Check for continuity between terminals # 1 and # 2.

With the accelerator pedal depressed there should NOT be continuity.

With the accelerator pedal released there should be continuity.

NOTE:  If there is no continuity while the accelerator pedal is released, loosen the TPS installation screw, turn the TPS in a clockwise direction,
and recheck.

4.

If there is a deviation in the tests results, replace the sensor.
