Disassemble steering column in numbered sequence, noting the following: 

1.

Special bolts are used on the steering lock and column support. If these parts are to be removed, a groove must be cut into the head.

2.

Remove snap ring using snap ring pliers.

3.

Slide dust cover to lower shaft assembly side when separating shaft assemblies.
