Discard the two spring discs, Figure 1.

Assemble the differential as outlined in the appropriate Import Service Manual using two spring plates PN MB160885 in the location of the
discarded spring disc, Figure 2.

5.

After assembly check the Rotating Torque of the differential using Side Gear Holding Tool Set MB990988. The rotating torque specification is:

No new clutch plates installed, 25 to 75 N-m (18 to 55 ft.lbs.). New clutch plates installed, 40 to 75 N-m (30 to 55 ft.lbs.).

Install the differential assembly in the rear axle.

7.

Fill the rear axle with Mopar Hypoid Gear Lubricant PN 4318058 plus Mopar Hypoid Gear Oil Additive-Friction Modifier, PN 4318060 as
outlined in the appropriate Import Service Manual.
