Inhibitor Switch: Description and Operation
Start - Inhibitor Switch Circuit
PURPOSE
The inhibitor switch detects when the transmission is positioned in park or neutral. Based on this signal, the ECU monitors automatic transmission
load and operates the Idle Air Control (IAC) servo to maintain correct idle speed.
LOCATION
The inhibitor switch is located on the transmission.
