DISCUSSION:
The procedure for testing and installation of the oil temperature sensor used on the 4WD-automatic transmission has been developed and is as follows.
DIAGNOSIS:
This procedure explains the steps for testing and installation of the oil temperature sensor.
1.
Remove the oil temperature sensor (Fig.1).
CAUTION:
DO NOT ALLOW FOREIGN MATERIAL TO ENTER THE TRANSMISSION THROUGH THE OIL TEMPERATURE SENSOR MOUNTING
HOLE.
2.
Using an electric hot plate to heat some transmission fluid, place the oil temperature sensor in transmission fluid up to the threaded portion as
shown in Fig. 2.
