Overdrive Solenoid: Service and Repair

NOTE: The valve body must be removed from the transmission to replace the lock-up solenoid.  

REMOVAL

Solenoid Assembly Removal

1.

Remove the solenoid assembly from the lower housing.

3-4 Accumulator Removal

Remove the screws attaching the 3-4 accumulator housing, and solenoid case connector to the lower housing.

Remove the solenoid case connector from the 3-4 accumulator housing.  Note the connector is attached with a shoulder type screw that must be
used for reinstallation of the connector.
