Engine Control Module: Service and Repair
NOTE:
The engine control unit is located in the engine compartment behind the battery and under the left front fender.
Engine Compartment Relays
REMOVAL
1.
Disconnect the negative battery cable at battery.
2.
Disconnect the positive battery cable at battery.
3.
Remove battery holddown clamps and remove battery.
Engine Controller
4.
Remove 60-way electrical connector from the control unit.
5.
Remove the three engine control unit-to-mounting bracket bolts. Do not remove the engine controller mounting bracket from the fender.
6.
Remove control unit from vehicle.
INSTALLATION
1.
Check pins in 60-way control unit connector for damage. Repair as necessary.
2.
Position engine control unit and install mounting bolts.

Tighten bolts to 4 Nm (35 in. lbs.) torque.
