Installing Vacuum Pump Housing
6. Mount vacuum pump housing on power steering pump. Tighten housing retaining nuts to 18 ft lb (24 Nm).
7. Start drive gear, eccentric and bearing assembly on power steering pump shaft. Ensure that eccentric is not cocked on shaft.
Installing Drive Gear Assembly On P/S Pump Shaft
8. Place flat washer on 3/8 - 18 bolt and thread into power steering pump shaft.
9. Tighten bolt to draw drive gear assembly onto pump shaft. Continue tightening until gear bottoms against pump shaft.
Installing Pump Push Rods
10. Lube vacuum pump push rods with engine oil and install in housing.
