Installing Drive Gear On Eccentric
3. Press gear onto eccentric with a socket or two plates that will straddle the shaft and properly distribute the load. Use two press plates or blocks to
keep the eccentric and bearing vertical when pressing the gear into place.
ECCENTRIC
1. If only the eccentric needs replacement, use a standard bearing splitter tool and press to remove the bearing from the eccentric. Then press the
eccentric from the drive gear.
2. Press the new eccentric into the bearing. Then press the drive gear onto the bearing and eccentric assembly.
BEARING
Installing New Bearing On Eccentric
1. Bearing can be removed from eccentric with a standard bearing splitter tool and press.
2. Install new bearing with a press and suitable size socket as a press tool. To avoid damaging the bearing, make sure the socket bears only against
the bearing inner race.
Service Tools
Pump Gear Removal Pin Dimensions
A pin, a metric bolt and an SAE bolt are required to service the pump assembly. The pin and both bolts must be hardened. The pin can be fabricated
from drill rod or the shank of a hardened shoulder bolt. Proper bolts can be obtained from a local supplier.
As shown on the image, pin diameter should be 0.312 in (8mm) and it should be 2 in (50.8 mm) long.
The metric bolt is M14 thread, grade 10.9 The SAE bolt is 3/8 - 18 thread, grade 8.
