Remove the front wheels and inspect the brake discs, calipers and linings.
NOTE: The wheel bearings should be inspected at this time and repacked if necessary.
CAUTION: Do not get any oil or grease on the linings.
Inspect and, if necessary, replace rear brake linings also.
If the caliper is cracked or fluid leakage through the casting is evident, it must be replaced as a unit.
CAUTION: It is recommended that both front wheel sets be replaced whenever a respective pad is worn or damaged to ensure even braking.
Shoe And Lining Wear Limits
Combined shoe and lining thickness should be measured at the thinnest part of the assembly. Replace the brake shoes when overall thickness is
approximately 6 mm (1/4 in) or less.
The brake shoes are replaceable components but must be replaced on both front wheels at the same time. This is necessary to maintain braking
balance. Never replace the shoes on one side only. Replacing the shoes at only one wheel will cause uneven braking and pull.
