Oil Pan: Service and Repair

Raising the left side of engine is necessary for oil pan removal.
1.
Disconnect air pump relief valve hose.
2.
Raise and support vehicle, then drain engine oil.
3.
Remove clutch housing block strut then the lower cover.
4.
Remove lower radiator hose support bracket.
5.
Loosen the following:
a.
Right insulator-to-bracket through bolt to relieve tension only.
b.
Left insulator-to-bracket through bolt enough to clear bracket.
c.
Transmission to crossmember mounting bracket.
6.
Rotate left side of engine up slightly and remove oil pan.
7.
Reverse procedure to install. Apply RTV to oil pan end seals, at junction of end seal, seal retainer and engine block. Tighten oil pan and clutch
housing strut bolt to specifications.
