Suspension Spring ( Coil / Leaf ): Service and Repair
Front Coil Spring Replace

1.

Raise and support vehicle, then remove wheel and tire assembly.

2.

Remove shock absorber, then loosely install spring compressor tool No. DD-1278 or equivalent.

3.

Disconnect sway bar end link assembly from control arm.

4.

Place suitable jackstands under control arm lower frames, ensuring they straddle control arm bushings.

5.

Remove control arm mounting bolts from frame assembly.

6.

Slowly lower jackstands until tension on coil spring is relieved, then remove spring compressor tool, coil spring and isolator pad.

7.

Reverse procedure to install. Tighten control arm front and rear retaining nut to specification.
