Dakota 2WD V6-239 3.9L (1987)
Upstream Solenoid: Description and Operation
This system is used on Dakota models equipped with V6-238 engines. During open loop idle conditions, when vehicle speed is less than 4 MPH or
when carburetor switch is closed and engine speed is less than 800 RPM, the air switching solenoid energizes and switches air upstream. When the
oxygen feedback goes to closed loop, when vehicle speed is above 4 MPH or when carburetor switch is open and engine RPM is above 800 RPM, the air
will be switched to downstream.
