SYMPTOM/CONDITION
Prop shaft induced vibration and noise during operation at 35-55 mph.
DIAGNOSIS
Attach a tachometer to read engine Rpm.
Road test the vehicle for vibration and/or booming noise in the 35-55 mph range. The vibration and/or noise is usually most noticed in top gear at no
load. If a vibration and or booming noise is evident, note the engine RPM where the problem is more evident. With the vehicle stopped and the
transmission in neutral, run the engine up through the same RPM range and note if the same noise and/or vibration is evident. If the problem is no longer
present, replace the drive shaft assembly as follows.
