Axle Bearing: Service and Repair
1. Remove axle shaft as outlined under Drive Axles.../ Service and Repair/ Front Axle Shaft Replacement.

2. Pry off seal, then remove bearing with bearing removal tool No. C-4167 and slide hammer tool No. C-637, or equivalents.
3. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Install bearing with installation tool No. C-4198 and handle tool No. C-4171, or equivalents.
b. Do not use seal to position or set bearing.
c. Install new seal with installation tool No. C-4203 and handle tool No. C-4171, or equivalents.
