Steering Column Intermediate Shaft - Pop, Click, or Clunk-Like Sound When Turning

OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves realignment of the intermediate steering shafts, and if necessary, the replacement of the upper intermediate shaft.

MODELS:

2005-2007

(ND)

Dakota

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

When turning the customer may experience a pop, click, or clunk-like sound coming from the upper intermediate steering shafts. This condition may be
due to the alignment of the intermediate shaft between the steering column and steering gear.

DIAGNOSIS:
If the above condition is present, and the condition is isolated to the upper intermediate steering shaft, then perform the Repair Procedure.

New fasteners must be used when performing this Repair Procedure.
