While holding the template firmly in place on the headliner, mark the drill location using a felt tip pen (Figure 4).

Remove the template.

Perform Steps 3 through 8 to the other side of the headliner.

Install a drill stop onto a 1/4 in. drill bit. The drill stop should be located on the drill bit somewhere between 1 in. and 2 in. from the tip of the drill
bit. The drill stop will prevent exterior roof panel damage if the depth of the drill were to exceed 2-1/2 inches (Figure 5).
